Gempa berkekuatan 6.8 skala Richter mengguncang daerah sentral Myanmar pada tanggal 24 Agustus 2016 hari Rabu sore. Pusat gempa adalah di barat kota Chauk, 25 km (15.5 miles) jaraknya. Departemen geology Amerika Serikat / US Geological Survey menggungkapkan :

Di kota Bagan, kota tua yang dijuluki kota 4 juta pagoda, mengalami banyak kerusakan pagoda. Dari divisi arkeologi, sebanyak 60 an pagoda mengalami kerusakan. Pagoda-pagoda di Bagan mulai dibangun di abad 10 hingga 14 Masehi.

Kontroversi kembali terjadi di ajang Olympiade / Olimpiade Rio de Janeiro 2016. Kali ini berlangsung di cabang olahraga gulat. Di nomor freestyle 65 kg wrestling atau gulat, partai perebutan medali bronze / perunggu. Pegulat dari Mongolian Mandakhnaran Ganzorig berhadapan dengan pegulat Uzbekistan's Ikhtiyor Navruzov. Setelah melalui beberapa detik berduel, terjadi aksi-aksi teknis yang menyebabkan wasit akhirnya memenangkan pegulat Uzebekistan.
Laporan media adalah sebagai berikut : Mongolia’s Mandakhnaran Ganzorig led by by seven points to six against Uzbekistan’s Ikhtiyor Navruzov in the 65kg freestyle wrestling with 18 seconds to go in the bronze medal match, before proceeding to taunt his opponent by dancing around. However, the judges then adjusted the score to 7-7, penalising the Mongolian for ‘fleeing the hold’, or refusing to engage with his opponent. A further point was then added to the Uzbek's score after the Mongolians' challenge was rejected, thereby handing the bronze medal to Navruzov.
Setelah pegulat Mongolia berhasil mengungguli si Uzbek, si Mongolia beraksi merayakan kemenangannya dengan mengangkat tangan. Wasit melihat ini sebagai aksi ulur waktu dan langsung memberi pinalti kepada pegulat Mongolia. Otomatis hal ini membuat berang sang pelatih. Lihat video di bawah.
Yang heboh, unik, dan kocak adalah setelah selesai penilaian juri / wasit, kedua pelatih gulat Mongolia lompat ke panggung melakukan protes. Pelatih pertama protes keras atas keadilan wasit. Pelatih kedua tampaknya lebih "panas" melanjutkan dengan aksi buka bukaan baju. Kejadian ini direkam oleh kamera offical Olimpiade Rio dan sekarang beredar luas sebagai viral Youtube.

Arcandra Tahar might be the first US passport holder who became Indonesian minister, well for only 20 days. Born in Padang city, West Sumatra province (propinsi Sumatera Barat), Arcandra Tahar last hold a prestigious position in Houston based oil-petroleum company as President. Since the polemic become too strong, Jokowi finally dismiss Arcandra Tahar as Energy and Mineral Resources Minister in the evening of August 15th, 2016. Arcandra Tahar will no longer hold the minster post started Agustus 16, 2016. His position will temporary fill in by coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.
The polemic had since become social media sensation because Arcandra Tahar is indeed a worthy person to fill the Energy Resources. Di tahun 2010 insinyur otomotif dari China mulai memimpikan desain bis yang bisa melayang dan mampu mengatasi macet lalu lintas yang parah di sono. Impian tersebut dituangkan dalam desain bis yang bisa me-"ngangkang"-i jalan raya. Ide tersebut dituangkan dalam proyek "Transit Elevated Bus" (TEB). Namun di tahun 2010 tersebut itu, otoritas China sendiri belum menyetujui proyek ini karena faktor safety dan efektifitas.
Kejutan kemudian hadir di sekitar bulan Juli 2016, di mana media-media akhirnya memperoleh bocoran informasi proyek TEB ini ternyata sudah direalisasi pabrik otomotif China. Transit Elevated Bus bisa melaju hingga kecepatan 60 km/jam. Ide ini pertama kali sebenarnya diajukan oleh pakar Craig Hodgetss dan Lester Walker di tahun 1969 dengan nama "The Bos-Wash Landliner". Kemudian ide ini di desain oleh pabrik Shenzhen Hashi Future Parking Equiment Company (深圳華世未來泊車設備有限公司). Concept nya diberi tajuk 3D Express Bus (立体快巴) dan dikenalkan di pameran 13th Beijing International High-tech Expo in May 2010.
Desainernya, Song Youzhou menyatakan dalam interviewnya bahwa ada 4 kota di China, Nanyang, Shenyang, Tianjin dan Zhoukou yang menandatangi kontrak pilot proyek dengan menyediakan track ratusan kilometer di tahun 2016.
